The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Family & Community Medicine (UCDFCM) is proud to offer an Oncology Primary Care and Survivorship Fellowship for physicians interested in becoming leaders in the field of cancer survivorship and providing primary care services for patients with a history of cancer. The fellowship program is one year in length and focuses on providing primary care services to cancer survivors, taking into account how their cancer diagnosis and treatment impacts their long-term health. Graduating fellows will be prepared to serve as leaders in cancer survivorship in academic or community settings.
This is a non-ACGME-accredited fellowship in which the Fellow is appointed as an entry-level faculty member in the University of Cincinnati Department of Family & Community Medicine. The fellow will provide care to individuals with active cancer, a history of cancer or a cancer hereditary syndrome in the Oncology Primary Care clinic at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center. Fellows will additionally rotate with other target specialties including cardio-oncology, onco-nephrology and onco-psychiatry. Additionally, fellows will spend time at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Cancer Survivorship Program to learn how to care for survivors of childhood, adolescent and young adult cancers. One half-day of time will additionally be protected for the fellow to pursue research/projects of interest.

6) Childhood and AYA Cancer Survivors

8) Caregivers of Cancer Survivors and
9) Communication and Coordination of Care.

Prerequisites
The following qualifications/competencies are required for an applicant to be considered for the Oncology Primary Care and Survivorship Fellowship:
Completion of a U.S. ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency, Internal Medicine Residency, Medicine/Pediatrics Residency, or Family Medicine/Psychiatry in good standing
Relevant Specialty Board Certification
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio
Demonstrated commitment to serving individuals with a history of cancer.

Activities and Curriculum
Clinical care
Provide primary care to adults with active cancer, a history of cancer or a cancer hereditary syndrome in the Oncology Primary Care Clinic at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center 6 half days per week
Rotate with interdisciplinary team members including but not limited to Cardio-oncology, Onco-nephrology, Onco-psychiatry, Pediatric Oncology, Adult oncology, Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Integrative Medicine, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Clinical Pharmacology and Mental Health counseling
Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinical sites
Attend interdisciplinary team meetings monthly at the clinic site
Precepting
Fellows will spend one half day precepting UC Health West Chester Family Medicine Residents, allowing them an opportunity to teach residents about the care of cancer survivors.
Scholarship
One half day per week will be protected for research based on fellow’s interest
Expected to present a small research project or QI project and present at a national meeting such as ASCO Quality Care Symposium, AAFP or Cancer Center Survivorship Research Forum.

Compensation
The compensation for the Oncology Primary Care and Survivorship Fellowship includes: Appointment in the UCDFCM as an entry-level faculty member (Instructor)
Salary: PGY Salary & Benefits based on UC COM Fellowship Salary Scale and level of fellow
CME: CME Reimbursement based on UCDFCM faculty CME
Travel Expenses: Travel expense coverage for presentation at a national conference
Diploma: A University of Cincinnati approved Certificate of Completion for a Fellowship in Oncology Primary Care and Survivorship.
